I think I like this version more than the original. Thank you for sharing! –Lisa Troupe
An oldie of mine but a goodie! If it is easy, taste's good and my kids will take at least one bite...I am all for it. I didn't think I would have to fight anyone to try it though it has all the yummies it. Turns out I was right. Most kids are down for whipped cream and powdered donuts. They ate it right up. Plus its perfect for a get together.
Quick Powdered Donut Tiramisu
Ingredients
Serves about 8 people and only takes about 15 minutes to make and one hour to set up!
1 mixing bowl
1 baking dish
1 (14 oz) package of powdered donuts
1 cup powdered sugar
1 8oz container Mascarpone cheese
1 container whipped cream
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups espresso or extra dark coffee
2 tablespoons cocoa powder for dusting
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, whipped cream and a splash of vanilla together until it is the consistency of pudding, set aside.
Grab your small baking dish.
Pour 1/2 your coffee in the bottom of the dish. Reserve the other 1/2 for the second layer.
Take each donut and turn it over in the coffee, lining them to fit together as you go.
Once the bottom of the dish is lined with the donuts dipped in coffee, you can pour half of the whipped mixture over the top. Spread it out evenly.
Coat the remaining donuts with coffee and line them on top of the first layer to make a second layer.
Once they are all laid out in lasagna formation, pour the remaining whipped mixture on top and spread out evenly.
Dust with cocoa powder and set in the fridge for one hour to set up.
Serve chilled. Store it in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
